THE GOOD FIGHT MEN
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” 2 Timothy 4:7 (NLT).
About Good Fight Men Service Group
The process of living as a Christian has rightly been described as a fight. The enemy is clearly defined, rules of engagement are recorded in the Bible and the mandatory combat attire is spelt out in Ephesians 6. The good news is that the match is fixed in terms of its guaranteed outcome—but only if we know how to fight the good fight to the end! As men we strive to be “good and faithful” fighters using the Word of God as our combat manual and love as our strongest weapon.

Every man has at one point been tested and has proven himself to be strong, competent, experienced and able to do whatever task is at hand. Every man knows that he didn’t learn whatever he is now good at without first submitting himself to someone else who took the time out to patiently teach him the tools and tricks of the trade. In Christ we have a friend who sticks closer than a brother “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin” (Hebrews 4: 15). With Christ we can do all things and fight The Good Fight to the end!
PURPOSE:
PURPOSE
To help men become committed followers of Christ, better loving husbands and fathers, and community leaders.
OUR PLAN:
We will achieve our purpose through Positioning, Equipping, Encouraging and Empowering men.
POSITION: We know from experience that to succeed in anything, you need to tap into the power and resources of someone stronger than yourself. We therefore position men in Christ to give them the best chance to succeed. “Therefore if a man cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” 2 Tim 2:21
EQUIP: “ As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another “ Prov. 27:17 (NASB) We will equip men with the Word of God and His power to step out of the cloak of inactivity and mediocrity into their God ordained identities and purpose so they can reflect Christ likeness in their daily walk and all their endeavors.
ENCOURAGE: Most men face the constant daily pressures of work and increasingly demanding roles at home. Very often the negative impact of our work is felt at the family level and in our personal relationship with God. The result is often isolation—from the Lord, from our families and from other Christians. We will therefore encourage each other in fellowship, social gatherings, worship, prayer and teaching. “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
EMPOWER: God is calling men to shake off the mind sets of restriction and the strongholds of excuses that have robbed so many of the courage, confidence and identity which is found in Christ Jesus. God will empower men with spiritual and natural gifts that give men a practical, fun and dynamic way to become true men of god, fathers and husbands in-chief and be the sure foundation upon which the next generation can stand on and serve God with integrity and power. Proverbs 4.
No man can well be expected to rise higher than his own standard of excellence. Say to yourselves then, "What ought I to be? What would I be? What shall I be?" Settle this well, wisely and firmly and you will succeed beyond imagination. (JOHN ANGELL JAMES, 1852)
